Be like Grandma.

25 Aug

I have been wanting to write this for some time now. I finally have the time and I am emotionally ready to write this. Back in October 2018 My mother called and said that Grandma is in the hospital and she is very sick. We all were thinking and hoping she would be out in a few days. That was not the case. She progressively became sicker as time went on. I was sad to hear this because my Grandma was such a caring and loving lady. She lived a simple life yet she knew how to handle her business while making things happen with what she had in her life. My grandmother even owned her own hair salon back when women were to just stay home and cook. She was always ahead of her time. She loved life and everyone regardless of who, what, or where they came from.

October 19th, 2018 my mother said that the doctor told her that Grandma K may not make it past the weekend. I started to cry ( I’m getting choked up writing this, this is tough). I texted my mom asking if I can talk to grandma K one more time. She said yes. I was trying so hard to not cry or sound sad when my mom called so I could talk to grandma K ( I am wiping tears off my face now as I type this). When my mother handed the phone to my grandmother, my grandmother asked: “is this Chad”? Even at the age of 100 yrs and 6 months while not doing so well she still could tell I was on the other end of the phone. Throughout life when I would call her she always would say: “this must be Chad”, then she would laugh, she loved to laugh. She could always tell who I was by the sound of my voice.

The first thing she said to me while taking deep breaths while in the hospital bed was: ” Chad you need to go take care of your granddaughter and daughter, be the best grandfather and father you can possibly be”. I was hyperventilating, I didn’t want her to know how sad I was while she was in the state she was in. It was the toughest phone call yet the most important loving phone conversation. Grandma K then proceeded to say: ” she was the best mom she could have been, she did her best and raised her children the best she could, being a good parent is the most important thing in life”. In the background, I heard my mom and her sister ( I could not tell who it was) say:” you are the best mom and you did an outstanding job raising us kids ( while they were sniffling from the sadness). Grandma K then said: “you need to get off the phone and go take care of your lovely family, I’ll be okay, do not worry about me”.  The phone call lasted 3 minutes, the saddest yet the best 3-minute phone call I will have for a very long time.

Man, this is so tough to type, the tears are flowing like a flooded river!

Even in the last few hours of my grandmothers’ life, she was talking about family. She didn’t utter a word about, money, jobs, cars, clothes, houses, bank accounts, or anything else that would not go with her in the afterlife.

To her family and the way you treat others was the most important thing in life. So important that is all she talked about with me on the last phone call I had with her on October 19th,2018. I wish everyone in this world would act like Grandma K. We can all learn from her.

I feel like she is still watching over me even though she passed away early in the morning of October 21st,2018. She loved Butterflies. This summer I have seen more butterflies than I have in the last 30 years, some even will follow me when I’m outside walking or be on my car as I drive. Some people believe cardinals are family members watching over them, in this case, it’s butterflies, Grandma K loved butterflies.

Let’s all act like Grandma K and remember what’s important in life: The way we treat others with kindness and making sure family comes before material items.

Words Do Matter

WORDS DO MATTER.
Its messed up with what happened to the congressmen/ladies and the cops in DC. There’s no excuse, except nuts should not be allowed to own guns. Liberals have been saying this for years.

Ted Nugent of all people is saying “maybe we need to tone down the rhetoric”. He is the same guy who said that president Obama and Hillary can suck on his gun, and other threats. Sarah Palin had a poster of bulls-eyes on congressmen, one of them was the guy who was shot in the hip.

Us “snowflake” liberals have been saying for years that this kind of talk, behavior is not acceptable. No one on the other-side of the tracks said a word, but called us names all day long. Now that someone got attacked by a nut-job, it needs to be toned down? It should have been toned down a long time ago. We have a sitting president who said he could still win if he shot someone on 5th ave. and his supporters cheered.

Political correctness and being polite does matter.
Yet still liberals are being called all kinds of names and that we are all terrorists, all because of one asshole. What about the ALT right, racist hate groups who support the president and have been killing people due to their race, and/or religion?

This has to stop. WORDS DO MATTER!!!!!

How to end Racism.

16 Nov

This blog is about ending racism. It is so easy to point out racism or wrong doings of other ethnic groups. Doing so diverts attention from the real issue, that’s racism within your own ethnic group. Every ethnic group has some form of racism, but to deny it or not fight it is saying you agree with racism. The fastest way to accept bad behavior is to keep quiet.

I know I am not the only one who has been told that I am the reason racism is alive, that I am the one race baiting. What I do will point out the racist ways within my ethnic group , others in my ethnic group tell me to shut up about it, and then racism will go away. I disagree with that logic.  It is the same logic of letting your child mouth off or call the other parent names while you sit back and say nothing. When both parents do not band together, the child thinks the quiet parent agrees with that child’s bad behavior. That way of thinking only allows the child to act worse day after day.

If you want racism to end, you have to address the cancer within your ethnic group. When you have a medial issue, do you address it and fix it, or do you ignore it thinking it will go away? When you see it, you have to step up and call the person(s) out and stand up for the victim. It’s not a hard concept to do, it’s just a hard concept to accept.

We as humans need to get rid of this cancer in our own ethnic groups, so stand up and end it in your ethnic group. Stop ignoring it , it will not go away unless you chase it away.

Reposition your body in the bed of life. A new perspective.

28 Jan

Yesterday I had some moles removed , and I now have stitches in my body. It made it difficult to lay in bed; so I had to reposition my body so I could lay down and watch T.V. until I fell asleep. While I was watching T.V. from another angle, I was thinking to myself that this old T.V. looks like a new one from this angle.

I got to thinking, maybe people need to change their mind, body, and logical way of thinking in life; they may see things differently and not be so closed-minded or stubborn.  I see too many people who will stay in the same mindset no matter how much mental pain they are in. This world would be more tolerant if folks would just roll over their mind, or turn around and see what’s going on behind them. If they would just open their minds up, they will see their old way  of thinking as not much fun as the new way. Take your mind or head and turn it over and try acting like the old way is in pain and you need to give it a rest.

So give your old ways a rest and look at life from another angle. You may think life is grand again and really enjoy what’s around you ; and the folks you disagreed with may be the folks you agree with after you roll over and see things from another angle.

Be the tree, not the lawn mower.

16 Nov

DSCN0201 DSCN0204

As a child this is the house I grew up in. Taking these pictures brought back many memories. One of which I noticed that there are now 3 trees in the front yard and not just 1. I remember many hot summer days mowing that huge corner lot.  And having many ladies stop by just to visit me , NOT!!! I also remembering leaving the one tree alone, mowing around it. Can you guess which one? If you guess the one farthest from the house you are correct. When the other 2 would start to grow, I would go over it with the lawn mower as I would mow the grass.

If those 2 trees just gave into the lawn mower, they would not be alive today. But they kept on fighting and they came back bigger and stronger than the one that was left alone to grow. Those 2 trees should be an inspiration to humans who happen to be picked on or are told they are not good enough, or strong enough, or smart enough. If these 2 trees started crying or gave up after the first time the lawn mower cut them down, they would not be seen by anyone and I would not be writing this blog about INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATION.

Next time you or someone you know are being degraded by a human lawn mower, just tell them or yourself to be like a tree. If they look at you funny tell them this true story. Show them this blog or read it to them. Folks need to TREE UP AND GET A BACKBONE. You can be what you want in life, no matter what your age is or what is going on in your life.

Just think, that mower that cut those 2 trees down every time the grass was mowed, is now in some dump sight rusting away. All the while the 2 trees it cut down are now big and alive, all for everyone to see in their full monty.

Paranoia , fear, and greed .

2 Sep

These are the three major factors that drive some people and businesses in America today. Look around and see how people, companies, and the media acts and talks. If you hear people talk and what they say or don’t say, they will have one of these 3 if not all 3 of these traits ( not all Americans, just the ones who have an empty soul ).

Take for instance the wars we get ourselves into. The only one that I see justified is Afghanistan. We should be out of there now ( we did our mission ). The Iraq war was started off of President Bushes fear and paranoia and the Military industrial complex’s greed. Now look at Syria. Yes I feel sorry for the people over there, but we have no reason to go there. I feel the Military industrial complex is pushing for a war there. It’s about their profits. It has nothing to do with Americas safety or freedoms. We need to stop making excuses for bombing other countries. What if another country helped the south during our civil war? Let the other countries fight it out on their own.

Now look at the gun industry. They push fear into so many folks and that drives up gun sales. They want high crime because that will drive up gun sales among the fearful, paranoid people in America. If you do not believe me, look at the amount of guns and ammunition being sold today. I am not against guns, I am against companies feeding fear into already paranoid people all for their corporate greed.

Look at politics and the workplace. You will see people acting paranoid and fearful by their actions or lack of actions and words. We should not be living like this. We need to get back to simple basics and stop worrying about what others can or will do to us. Put religion into your life and you will be at peace with yourself.

A few weeks ago I was having a discussion about running a business with an older gentleman. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about, so I was asking questions. His response was,” I can’t tell you everything, because that will allow you to go make money for yourself”. Now does that sound like he has all 3 traits? I would say yes. What’s he afraid of? What’s he paranoid about? And why does he have so much greed , that he does not want to see others make money?

If you watch the reality show Big Brother, you will see all 3 of these traits and it’s very sad and sick at the same time. There is paranoia, fear, and greed in about 90% of the players on that show. Why are all 3 traits running wild in our society? Look around you and see if you can change anything about yourself, then work on others.

We need to calm down and get back to the simpler things in life.

Big Brother 15 & Supreme court ruling on Voter rights act.

6 Aug

The title is long, but by the time you are done reading this, you will see the connection between the social experiment on T.V. and our justice system. If you have been watching Big Brother 15 on CBS, you will have noticed the sick and disgusting racial slurs, homophobe slurs , sick”jokes” about children and women. Big Brother 15 if just a microcosm of the American society.

A few months back the Supreme Court made a ruling that either Article 4 or 5 in the Voter rights act are no longer needed. Their justification is that racism no longer exists in America. The article they ruled that no longer is needed ( in their minds ) was the article that stopped voter suppression in southern states that has deep roots of racial injustices. Those states can now do as they please when it comes to voter laws per their state.

The connection to that ruling and Big Brother 15 is the racism going on in Big Brother shows that racism is alive and very strong. The ones that are acting out these racist ways are from southern states. Racism is taught, not something you are born with. IT is taught a lot in the southern states, just look at the way the folks act on Big Brother.

I personally think that in 2014 there is going to be a lot of African-Americans and Hispanic/Latino folks not getting the chance to vote, and those in power will justify it one way or another with a shit eating grin.

What is going on in Big Bother and the real world is institutional racism, and we the people are the only ones who can squash it. How can we squash it you ask? We can call folks out on racism when we see it happen. We can educate those who are uneducated on racism. Those in power , like Julie Chen and the producers of Big Bother can step in and do something about it ( and they are doing nothing, they are just as guilty as the perpetrators). We can elect people who are against racism and still understand that it’s alive and change laws to protect the powerless.

As long as we sit back and do nothing, we are just as bad as those enacting the racist ways. Saying or doing nothing is just as bad as saying it’s OKAY TO BE A RACIST!

I challenge those at the top of CBS to step up and do something. I challenge those in politics to step up and fix what has been unfixed. I challenge those around the world to step up and stand for something. STOP RACISM, don’t stand on the sidelines and be quiet!!!

Here are some RACISM SUCKS shirts from zazzle. It’s simple yet powerful at the same time. Get the message out that RACISM SUCKS!!! http://www.zazzle.com/imcheap/gifts?cg=196247183801373817

Congress proved my point.

27 Apr

This past week a part of the sequester ( cuts in gov. subsidized programs to save money) affected some very rich and powerful people. God forbid if they have to sacrifice with the poor and humble folks of this great nation. Some of the programs that are taking a good hit are cancer patients ( they are being turned away from treatment), unemployment and food stamps ( I think), department of defence , and the FAA (delayed flights). Guess which one the super rich and powerful got all up in arms about? You got it, it was the flight delays.

Super rich and powerful Americans hate to sacrifice and be inconvenienced. They will throw fits and yell until they get their way. They are like that spoiled kid in your class that no one liked. A few congressmen and wealthy businessmen ( who complained to congress) had to sit and wait for their flight delay and hated it so much that they all reversed the cuts to the FAA in less than 2 hours. Do you think they reversed the cuts to the cancer patients? Heck no, they are sacrificing for the American good. Why? Because they are poor and it does not affect the rich and powerful.

The poor and powerless sacrifice 24/7 365. A segment of America hates to be inconvenienced even if it helps the rest of America. A certain group only cares about themselves.  If this does not want you to change the way America works, then I do not think anything will get you motivated to flip the switch.

If a law affects the poor and powerless, then it’s a great sacrifice for the American good. If a law affects the rich and powerful, then it’s class warfare and is unfair, and trust me they will change that law so they are not inconvenienced. If the rich and powerful profit from a law , then it’s capitalism at its best and a good profit motive law. If the poor and powerless profit from a law, then it’s people taking advantage of the American system. It’s people living off of the government. It’s people sucking off of the governments teat.

Whats it going to take for you to say you have had enough of the double standard?

Use your position for good, not evil.

I have to write this from a personal point of view. It’s about people with authority and power who do all they can to make others feel like they are less than what they really are. I see it going on with my daughter, and her track teammates. It even happens in the class rooms and offices across this country.  I personally find it very disgusting when people do this and grin while they do and say things to others.

A few of my daughters track coaches feel it necessary to degrade kids and make them cry instead of making them feel like they are part of the team no matter what their talent level is. I am doing all I can to not go up and make myself sound like a fool and say what needs to be said. A real coach or teacher will do what it takes to bring the best out in a child. A real boss will do the same as well. I have seen people of power do what it takes to make people quiet or give up just for grins and the satisfaction of knowing they can.

30 years ago mentors of kids ( coaches and teachers ) would bring the best out of any child. Not today, is it because the coaches and teachers have no clue as to what they are doing? Good supervisors bring out the best on co-workers as well. They are out there, but not as many as there use to be. I have a few real good ones above me, but I have been at places where they should have been fired instead of the workers below them.

I think all teachers and coaches should be evaluated and tested on their ability to deal with humans and not just books. A lot of them would be fired if you ask me . I feel we can do better instead of accepting that this is all we got to mentor our kids at school.

Information overload causes anger, rudeness, and entitlements.

Have you ever noticed how society and the younger generation have this attitude that you owe me and I get what I want, when I want it and how I want it? Well I have, and it’s even flowing into the 40 plus age group. What’s causing this? I have a few opinions on this and I will try to explain it.

First its people who grew up with parents never telling them NO just so the parents would not have a child getting mad or upset. So many young kids have no idea on how to handle rejection. In school and at home they are always told how good they are or how good they did even if they failed. The kids are always told that they can do whatever they want, even if they are incapable of completing said task.  Games at the lower lever are played with no scores being kept. Kids get a trophy for just playing even if they lost all their games.  So as an adult when they hear the truth, they become angry or very rude.

Second everyone has the ability to get what they want, when they want it, and how they want it via internet or satellite T.V… 30 years ago if you wanted what was fashionable in New York or Los Angeles and lived in Iowa, you had to wait a few years for the trend to hit. Now all you need to do is get on the internet and click a mouse. 30 years ago there was no cable T.V., all we had were 3-6 channels. Now you have hundreds of channels and can watch what you want, when you want it and how you want it. A person in Quimby, Iowa has the same access to anything a person living in Los Angeles, California has.  This type of access has even changed some folks who are 40 plus for the worse. They are acting out of control and will throw a fit if another human says no or thinks differently than they do.

So many people ( kids and adults) feel entitled to what they want, when they want it, and how they want it, without even thinking of others.

Remember folks that humans are not remote controls or a mouse connected to the internet. Other people have feelings and emotions. They can not be changed into what you want with a click of your spoiled little finger. Bring your disposition back a few decibels and act calm again. Put civil back in civilization, or it will only get worse.
