Yes I agree that Black lives matter. I also think that all lives matter no matter the race or ethnicity of the individual. There is nothing wrong with peaceful protests when an unarmed African-American / black person is gunned down by a cop.
As a white man on the outside looking in, I have a few questions and points to make. Since Black lives matter, where is the outrage within the African-American / black community when gangs take over a neighborhood and killings happen? Since Black lives matter, where is the outrage when schools close down in the African-American / black communities? Since Black lives matter where is the outrage with the parents when their kids drop out of school or fail classes? Since Black lives matter, where is the outrage when a young African-American / black woman has children out-of-wedlock or the man does not stick around to be in the child’s life? If the African-American / black community would protest for these sad reasons, then the protests for cops killing unarmed African-American/ black people would be more legitimate to others.
I as a white man would love to see communities in the African-American / black communities protest and have uprisings to squash gangs, school dropouts, unwed woman giving birth to fatherless kids, schools closings, and so on. I also think the “stop snitching” attitude within the African-American / black community hurts the Black lives matter movement. If Black lives matter, then people would snitch all day long. Peer-pressure is a strong thing to have on your side.
Are there unwed mothers and crime in other communities? Yes there are, I just want to see the Black lives matter succeed and I think addressing these issues within the community; that is when Black lives matter will work for the better.
That’s my two cents.
